Loki, another anticipated series of Phase 4 of the MCU. Bringing one of the most memorable characters back.
We were all sad to see his demise in Infinity War, but now we will be able to see him in an alternate reality, where he escapes his fate as shown in Endgame. Now we'll see him captured by the 'Time Police', the TVA (Time Variance Authority).
SHOW DESCRIPTION
Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Owen Wilson (Mobius M, Mobius), Gugu Mbatha-Raw (TVA Member), Sophia Di Martino, Sasha Lane and Wunmi Mosaku.
Directed by Kate Herron
Written by Michael Waldron
Streaming in May 2021 on Disney +
This show is going to be the most interesting out of all the shows, going to stream next year. It is different as, unlike others, it does not follow up on the characters after Endgame. Rather, this story focuses on a Loki from an alternate reality in which he escapes after being captured by the Avengers in The Avengers. So this will be highly unpredictable, as we don't know how the events will pan out in that universe after a single thing is put of place.
This show, being based after 2012, puts it in a very early phase of the MCU. Phase One was just finished, and now Loki has gone missing because of the events of Endgame in another universe.
I highly recommend brushing up on the earlier movies of the MCU, as Loki at that time was a full-fledged villain. He has not undergone the transformation which he will undergo in due course with the events of The Dark World and Ragnarok. This makes him more dangerous and this dangerous attitude, that thirst for evil, will probably play an important role in the TV series.
Be sure to read the content, so you will Know It All about Loki.
There were majorly, 2 movies which affected Loki's character in Phase One. These caused Loki's mindset to change into an evil one. He became one of the greatest villains of the MCU.
(i) Thor
An emotional, ignorant, war-loving Thor (Chris Hemsworth), always down-playing his brother to the point of rage. A young Thor was probably the reason why Loki resorted to villainy.
Loki, son of the leader of the Frost Giants, Laufey. He always knew he wasn't an Asgardian by birth. He always felt he was out of place, but that did not dampen his spirits.
Thor always overshadowed him. This is the reason Loki wanted to rule Asgard. He wanted the people to know him as Loki, not as Thor's brother.
Due to Thor's actions, Thor was banished to Midgard, i.e. Earth. Loki took advantage of this opportunity and started fulfilling his aspirations of becoming a great hero.
But to prove his point, he resorted to the wrong methods. His jealousy of Thor got his better. He started on a path to become a fierce evil warrior. He invited the Frost Giants to invade Asgard and even ordered the death of his father. He sent The Destroyer to kill Thor, who had turned into a human temporarily, to eliminate his only threat.
He did not accept Odin, Frigga and Thor to be his family and he opted to die rather than live on Asgard. So when on the Rainbow Bridge, he did not take Thor's hand and fell into the cosmos. Only to meet Thanos, who gave him 2 infinity stones which led to the events of The Avengers.
(ii) The Avengers
Loki's defining moment. The world was his stage and he, like a diva, tried to shine brighter than the sun. An ego driven ideology, powers given to him by Thanos, possession of two infinity stones and full control of one of the deadliest armies in the universe: The Chitauri. He made a formidable opponent.
He took over the minds of Hawkeye and many S.H.I.E.L.D agents, destroyed a S.H.I.E.L.D facility, manhandled the Avengers, took them apart one by one, taking advantage of their vulnerabilities.
He unleashed the Hulk on the Tri-Carrier, which seriously damaged it. He tricked Thor into falling off the Tri-Carrier. He also killed Agent Coulson.
He would have won, if Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) hadn't guided the nuke to the Chitauri mother-ship.
Loki may have been the most dangerous man in the universe then. Maybe this is the reason the TVA is so interested in him. He escaping his own destiny, which may lead to a collapse in time in the future.
Loki is an unstable being at this point in his timeline. The TVA will probably tell him about his destiny and how it has been changed.
This series will also feature real-life, unexplained events from the point of Loki.
It is going to be a very exciting series, to release in May 2021.
So this is all you need to know before watching the TV series.
Maybe see this post in April 2021 again just before the first episode releases.
