WandaVision. The first Project of Phase 4 of the MCU. This show marks a beginning of a new age, where the MCU expands and starts relating its movies strongly to its TV shows.

Show Description

  • Directed by Matt Shakman

  • Written by Jac Schaeffer

  • First Episode 15th January 2021

  • Streaming on Disney +

I know. Everybody knows. Vision is dead, how is he in a TV show?. We saw him die in Avengers: Infinity War. There is something mysterious going on in this series. To find out what's really going down, unfortunately, we will have to wait until the First Episode.

I definitely recommend reading the content below, before watching the show.

There have been many steps which led to the current relationship between Scarlet Witch and Vision. It has broken down and portrayed across many movies.

Every movie shows a different aspect of their life, but they all connect them both by showing their similarities.

With Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor Johnson) dying, Avengers were her only family after Sokovia. With Vision just being born, he too did not know anyone except the Avengers.

Indirectly Wanda helped in creating Vision. By putting the ideas in Tony's (Robert Downey Jr.) head, it led to him creating Ultron, which then led to the birth of Vision.

If you think about it, Wanda and Vision were meant to be.

Let's just go through these events.

(i) Avengers: Age of Ultron

I mean, this is where their story starts. Vision rescuing Wanda from the falling Sokovia. It's fine if you don't watch this movie from the beginning, just watch the part after Vision's entry. Scarlet Witch faced a terrible life. Growing up hating superheroes. Vision's act of kindness completely changed her mentality. Disregarding him not knowing our ways.

It showed his compassion, his human side, which hopefully will play a key role in bringing Vision's character back to the MCU.

The villain ( no one knows for sure) might tap Scarlet Witch's memories and make her see an illusion of Vision throughout the first few episodes.

(ii) Captain America: Civil War

This is a must watch for everyone. In this movie, the 2 characters hit it off with each other and they developed their chemistry. Without this movie as a bridge between Age of Ultron and Infinity War, this TV show would have not have happened.

Vision was in charge of Scarlet Witch, as he knew how to handle her. He was the only one who could stop her from going outside. The Wanda Vision bond strengthened, which caused the consequences of Infinity War to be so devastating.

These two had their moments in the movie, full of love and fun. Wanda went against Vision in the movie, but because of this she suffered pain which clearly depicts their growing bond.

Maybe MARVEL will put a twist in the show. By basing the show in between Civil War and Infinity War solving all our burning questions about its placement in MARVEL timeline. This theory also supports the existence of Vision. So this is a plausible plot. So watch Civil War on your TV or if you already have a subscription of Disney +.

(iii) Avengers: Infinity War

The most important movie, another must watch before WandaVision. In Infinity War, at the beginning we come to know that both of them have been stealing some moments to live together. Love between a humanoid and a human. Because of this Vision was growing and becoming the best version of himself.

This affair was not too last for long. The Black Order and Thanos interfered, running behind the Mind Stone in Vision's head. Facing enormous dangers and being injured, they reach Wakanda(All thanks to Cap). In Wakanda, Shuri says that she might remove the Mind Stone without harming Vision. It was not to be. Thanos succeeded. Scarlet Witch after enduring so much had to destroy her love only to suffer even more. Thanos used the Time stone to reverse the damage done and ripped the Mind Stone out of Vision, ultimately killing him.

Scarlet Witch was dusted.

This part will cause the most confusion in showcasing Vision in the TV series.

Extra Avengers: Endgame

If you have watched Infinity War, it will be a crime if you don't watch Endgame. You need to have a satisfying ending to the saga. In Endgame, we can clearly see the anger in Scarlet Witch seeping out. Her powers were intensified. The rage, her whole mind seeking the destruction of Thanos. Vision was her everything, and the villain just took him away.

The antagonist of the TV series may use Wanda's unchecked anger against her going through her memories and creating a fictitious dream world, which is Wanda's fantasy.

So this is all you need to know before watching the TV series.

After this post series '3 SHOWS 1 WEEK' I will bring theory posts about this very series. Answering questions like 'Who might the villain be?', 'When is this series based?' and many more. Stay tuned.
