#18 It was Agatha All Along!!! WandaVision Episode 7

Here we are again, though late for the occasion, so let's get straight to the point.

WandaVision Episode 7. This episode has set up many events for this series and the future MCU. We also got a big reveal, visual proof of the antagonist (one of the most predicted characters, by the way). We saw the willpower of Monica Rambeau and another predicted event. This episode definitely took inspiration from the show 'Modern Family' where each character you know 'breaks the fourth wall' thus providing us with an enjoyable multi-perspective viewpoint into every situation.

The episode begins with a recap of the last episode. The Hex expanding, Wanda finally seeing through the ruse that was Pietro. Monica standing up for Wanda, but Hayward intent on destroying Westview. We all know that. (By the time this post releases, everyone will know all about this episode too).

We see Wanda, with Vision still unconscious in the circus that was formerly the SWORD base. Wanda, herself sums up the events of Episode 6, speaking so casually of her monstrous powers. As if everyone has superpowers. She talks about how anyone can be overrun by fear and anger, and how everyone "intentionally expands the boundaries of the false world they created". A rather comical depiction of the disastrous events. Billy and Tommy come into her room and tell her that her magic is going haywire. Their gaming consoles can now switch eras, from the latest to basic UNO cards.

While Wanda was resting her eyes, the haywire magic has already started to affect the people of Westview, including Wanda's children. Wanda plans on punishing herself for the Halloween day events and decides to take a staycation. Giving a whole day just to herself. A wrong move indeed.

The children, visibly scared of Wanda, quiet down as she comes down. Wanda makes breakfast for herself, with some Westview branded almond milk and sugar snaps( Maybe a reference to Thanos' snap which dusted Wanda). The radio jockey announces the show W.N.D.A, the show for Westviewians. The milk carton is also going nuts, shifting through the eras. The RJ tells us how the 'creepy kiddos' come out once a year in this place. Wanda herself can't understand the situation but doesn't put too much thought into it.

We see the Wanda intro and it is all Wanda. Only the name Wanda appeared in it, just morphed into various forms.

Hayward is getting ready to attack Westview. With the broadcast gone, Hayward is putting all his little pieces in their places for the showdown.

Vision wakes up in the circus, mistaken by the ringmaster for a clown. He is paired up with the escape artist, which is Darcy Lewis's character in Wanda's show. Vision converses with Darcy who mistakes him for a creep. Vision tries to remind her of the previous night, where they had a mutual understanding.

We shift to the kids, reminding Wanda, of Vision, but she dismisses that too. Wanda tells her children that Pietro was a lie. Wanda at this point doesn't care about anything. Agnes knocks on the door, but Wanda displays her powers, with no hesitation to blow her cover. Agnes suggests some me-time, after looking at Wanda in her stressed state. Agnes takes the kids to her house, thus allowing Wanda to chillax. (All this while crossing some personal boundaries, the children obviously disgusted by it).

Wanda enjoys her freedom, and also deals with the magic which is out of her control.

Monica and Woo are driving to another SWORD base, with agents who are loyal to Monica's vision. They discuss an R&D project codenamed Cataract, which Darcy mailed to them, just before being hexed. They come to know why Hayward was tracking Vision. Hayward was trying to bring Vision back online. I was a little disappointed as we did not get to see the secret Aerospace engineer. The other SWORD people, take the space rover out of their tent. Exactly what Monica wanted.

We see some comedy between Darcy and Vision. Vision releases Darcy from Wanda's spell. They escape on a truck and one-by-one Darcy answers Vision's questions.

Wanda is still in her house, confused with the chaos. She wonders why she can't fix it. Then as the camera is interviewing Wanda, the interviewer talks back. This bewilders Wanda. The interviewer asks her "Do you think this is what you deserve?" Wanda replies in utter shock "But you are not supposed to talk!".

We see an ad for Nexus, which describes Wanda's exact situation. About how she wants to anchor herself back to her reality, how she wants to seize her moment and feel true emotions. She wants to regain control of the world that revolves around her.

We see Agnes trying to bond with Wanda's children. Billy, using her powers, senses Agnes' mysterious nature. How she is pretending to be someone, she is not. Agnes tries to comfort the kids about their mother's worsening situation.

We shift to Rambeau, gearing up to enter Westview. The truck rams into the hex and the idea blew up in their faces. Monica, just barely escaping the ordeal, decides to just push through the wall. We listen to some dialogues from the Captain Marvel movie. Facing many hurdles along the way (almost giving in to Wanda), Monica literally gathers part of her being and unlocks her dormant powers. She becomes Photon. I personally think that the Hex has just amplified herself. She sees the EM spectrum existing in Westview, and starts running towards Wanda's house.

Darcy tries to explain Wanda and Vision's complicated past. About how Wanda killed Vision and after the time reversal, she had to see Vision die at the hands of Thanos. Wanda is making their life difficult, by creating impediments to stop Vision from returning home. Sometimes the traffic lights are jammed, other times children are crossing the street (Even though they come out once a year). Vision wonders about his existence and his true purpose in the world, after realizing his dreadful past. Darcy too wonders, why Vision can't leave the Hex and the number one question about 'How Wanda is controlling this reality?'.

Monica reaches Wanda's home and immediately tension starts brewing. Wanda threatens Monica. Only showing her powers. Monica, making a superhero landing, tries to convince Wanda, to make her see the error of her ways, and how she is not being herself. Then Agnes makes an entry and takes Wanda into her home, away from Monica.

Vision realizes how he has been wasting his time, getting to Wanda by truck, when he can just fly to her.

Agnes takes Wanda into her home. Wanda immediately notices the calm of Agnes' home and how the magic is perfectly stable in this house. Wanda asks about her children and wanders into the basement. As she goes further she comes across a room, filled with skulls, instruments of witchcraft. then we get the big reveal that "It was Agatha All Along!!!'. Agnes' true name was Agatha Harkness (which we knew), we come to know shehe has been pulling the strings in Westview, without Wanda's complete oversight. She was the one controlling Pietro, she caused Herb to drill into the wall, she was the interviewer, and she killed Sparky. The episode ends with a classic witch's laugh.

We also get a credit scene of Monica snooping around Agnes' house. As she discovered the basement, Pietro comes behind her and catches her red-handed.

So, this was all for WandaVision episode 7.
